St.Anne Lenten Spirit Week

This year we are donating to the The Ottawa River Keeper.  The organization has a goal of maintaining a swimmable, drinkable, fishable Ottawa river watershed for everyone.  They have many projects to clean up shorelines and respond to pollution.  We, at St. Anne's, are having a Lenten Spirit Week to raise funds to support this local organization.  With the money, they will help to save the Ottawa river that we all share and enjoy year around.

St. Anne Lenten Spirit Week

Bonne et Heureuse Année!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. I would like to thank you for the thoughtful gifts!

In December, we were very busy with our Social Studies ( The Role of Government and Responsible Citizenship ), project on a Canadian social or environmental issue. The students had to research and analyze information in order to understand the issue, identify the level of government who is responsible for addressing this issue, what their perspectives are and what their plan of action is, then identify what role and/or responsibilities do canadian citizens have in regards to this issue and how canadian citizens can come together and help solve the issue.

We are going to start the new year with our second Science unit:  Matter.  We will also finish our Social Studies project and work on a presentation for Dance; where the students have to choose a dance from a different community and time, describe it, find out if it is associated with a special events, a belief(s) and/or a tradition(s) and then teach us a few basic dance steps.

At this time, I would like to continue with the reading homework. The readings are often a  reflection of what we are learning in class; a paragraph that I put together with comprehension questions.  Please ask your child to show you on Hapara Workspace.

Thank you for your continued support.
